Julie's Amazing Transformation

 

My weight has always been a struggle for me. I started to gain weight in high school which continued into college. I didn’t exercise and I pretty much ate what I wanted when I wanted so needless to say I was unhealthy and unfit. In November 2000, I decided to lose weight and by March 2001, I lost about 35 lbs. bringing me down to about 145 lbs. I did it by reducing my calories and walking on the treadmill. When I met my husband in college in 2001, I was skinny, but still unfit; I didn’t have any muscle tone. I gradually lost sight of my fitness goals and over the next five years I gained 60 lbs. by going back to my old ways of no exercise and no discretion for what I ate. I remember weeks where my lunch was a Dairy Queen Blizzard everyday. In 2006, I got married which was one of the happiest days of my life, but unfortunately I was the heaviest I had ever been. I vowed that I would never reach 200 lbs.  Unfortunately, before I knew it I had reached 205 lbs., my body fat had reached over 30% and I was wearing a size 18 in pants and large/x-large tops.

I lost some weight in 2007, but wound up gaining some back. From the spring of 2007 until March 2008, I maintained my weight at 188lbs. and around 26% body fat. Then at the end of March 2008, I decided to get serious. It hasn’t been easy, but with Brian's knowledge of fitness and nutrition, motivation and support, today I am down to 150 lbs., 17% body fat, between a size 6 and 8 pants and small/x-small tops! I look and feel better, and am healthier than I have ever been. I’m not done yet either. I decided a few months ago that I was going to go all the way with my fitness. I am training to compete in my first figure competition in 2009 and with Brian's help I know with confidence that I will reach my goal.

Here is Julie in her posing suit on the morning of April 25, 2009 just before leaving for the Fitness Atlantic Show.  She weighed in at 129lbs at 9% body fat, having lost a total of 75lbs and over 20% body fat!! 
 
 
 


Scott's Summer Slim Down

    I had decided to make the change to a healthier lifestyle.  However, after attempting to do it on my own I found that it wasn’t quite working out the way that I had wanted.  All I needed was the help of fitness professional to complete my transformation.  At that time Brian Ayers stepped into the picture.  Having been a good friend of mine for many years, he recognized the progress that I had made on my own and he also had ideas to help me go further.

    Even though I had developed some muscular definition it was not as visible as I wanted because lowering my body fat percentage was an obstacle that I was still struggling with.  Brian instructed me in new training techniques to target body fat loss and then designed a routine that combined these new exercises with important nutritional tips.

    At first, cutting down on eating my favorite high fat/sugar foods was hard, but after a week or two I lost the craving for them as I began to look and feel better.  The picture on the left shows me in spring of 2004 just before I came home for the summer.  The picture on the right shows the results of my hard work by the end of that summer. I lost about 18 lbs., dropped a couple waist sizes, and slimmed down so more of my muscular definition can now be seen. I reached the goal I had dreamed about in just a few months. 

    My advice to anyone else looking to begin their own transformation is just stick to it like you once stuck to bad habits such as eating unhealthy or watching a great amount of TV.  If you want to look like a champ, have Brian draw you the right blueprints and start building.

David's Transformation

 
My weight loss started in September of 2007. I had packed on over 30lbs over the past 5 years from just poor eating habits as most of us have. Finally I had enough of not fitting in my clothes year after year. I sat down with Brian and told him my goals - to lose body fat and build muscle. I was motivated to get into the best shape of my life and to live a healthier one as well. I knew it would be a long road but I was committed 100%. Brian developed a workout and nutrition plan for me. I didn't have the time to go to a gym, so Brian advised me on what equipment to purchase and set me up on a program I could do at home. It was amazing how much progress I made from month to month. I began feeling great and I had so much more energy. I was also eating better and found I wasn’t looking to snack between meals as I had in the past. I will continue to keep fitness a part of my life forever. There is no better feeling than being able to transform your body and knowing that you have the ability to reach your goals if you just push yourself. It is truly empowering. I lost 35 lbs. and went from 16.8% body fat to under 10%. I wish I did it years ago!!! Brian is very inspirational and will be with you every step of the way. Let him transform you into a healthier person. I encourage you to at least give it 8 weeks and if you give it 100% the rewards are sure to keep you going. Fitness has changed my life…Let it change yours.

Nancy's Success Story

   I was once again approaching my highest weight of 190.  I had lost weight before on my own, but I just didn’t seem to have the will power to stop eating this time around.  I knew I needed HELP!!!!  I had noticed a flyer for one of Brian’s nutrition lectures that got me thinking, I need someone who could get both my nutrition and my exercise back on track.  So I contacted Brian about starting a program.

   During our first session I warned Brian that I was a real klutz and exercises that were easy for most probably would not be easy for me.  I don’t think he believed me until he saw how uncoordinated I really was with some of the exercises.  He didn’t make me feel stupid, instead he just explained that form would come with practice and that we would just kept working on it until I got it right.  He started me on some simple balancing exercises and continued to add more challenging ones as I got better.  Balance and coordination exercises are now a regular part of my routines and I can’t believe how much I’ve progressed.

   At the beginning it took me a little time to become a hard working trainee.  We had been making progress with the exercises, but I still had a problem with the eating thing.  Brian had been telling me nicely again and again that I needed to pay closer attention to what I was eating but I just wasn’t taking it seriously.  Finally Brian sat me down and had a serious talk about my goals and how I needed to really focus on what I was eating.  I hated to even think about having to watch what I ate.  I was squirming a little in my seat during our talk, but after our discussion something finally clicked in my mind.  Confronted with the reality that I couldn’t just squeeze by with exercise alone, I actually started to listen to Brian’s nutrition advice.  Wonder of wonder, I actually started to lose weight. 

   When I first began losing weight, I couldn’t wait to tell Brian.  I could tell my friends and family, but I knew no one would get as excited as I was, except Brian.  My success was his success as well.  I remember the day I told him that I actually had to go out and buy smaller sizes for my clothes.  He gave me a big smile and a high-five.  We were both excited for me.  It was really a GREAT feeling.

    As the results became noticeable to others, people actually began coming up to me and telling me I inspire them.  Imagine that, me inspiring anybody.  I have lost about 40 pounds and 6 clothes sizes in the year since I started listening to Brian.  I am so glad that I finally did.

I decided to do a little transforming of my own.

 
 
     So here’s my story:  I started getting serious about getting in the best shape of my life in January of 2007. 
I decided that I would get down to 6% body fat, having never previously gotten below 11% this was going to be a challenge.  I had blown up over the holidays and started that January at 227 lbs and about 16% body fat, kind of sad for a trainer.  So I started on an intense 6 month diet and exercise program which stretched into 7 months, but by the beginning of August that year I had reached my goal.  I was 6% body fat and 200lbs at my leanest!!!  I was also mentally and physically exhausted and began to fall back into my old eating habits.  For a while I was able to eat what I wanted and my metabolism was so high that I stayed pretty lean, unfortunately that would not last.  After the holidays took their toll again I ended up in January 2008 pretty much back where I started at 226lbs and about 16% body fat. (the pictures to the right and below) 
      
 
       
 
    I was so disappointed that I had let myself squander all that I had worked for.  I made it my New Year’s resolution to not only get back to where I was that previous summer, but also not to let myself gain it all back this time.  By July of 2008 I had beaten my previous year’s best by reaching 6% body fat at 205lbs, having gained more lean mass over the year:
 
 

 

I’ve been where you are and I’ve gotten to where you want to be. It's not an easy road, but I've traveled it and I can guide you to your own success.  I know that the pitfalls and the set backs can be demoralizing, but if I can do it then I am confident that you can do it as well.
